UngLåt is a summer school in norwegian folk music and folk dance for children and youth from 9 to 18 years old. This is the third year the summer school will be arranged. At the school you can choose between folk dance, Hardanger violin, violin, accordion, melodion and vocals. The will also be sosial activities like folk dancing, singing, games and more.

This year the summer school will also join the annual Førde Traditional and World Music Festival (Førdefestivalen) as audience members on the opening concert. The course is also expanded with one ekstra day.

At UngLåt you can meet new friends, learn tunes and tricks on your instrument or some new dance moves, experience Førde Traditional and World Music Festival and create long lasting memories. The teachers are some of Norways best teachers and performers in norwegian folk music and dance. You'll also be able to see some of them at the festival as performers.

UngLåt aims to be an important meeting point in Norwegian folk music, and wishes to give children and youth with an interest in folk music and dance a place to meet, learn and express themselves. It is the only summer school in Norway that focuses on the folk music and folk dance traditions in the western part of the country after the traditional summer school Mokurset (1984-2018) no longer exists. UngLåt is hosted by Sogn og Fjordane Folkemusikklag, Førdefestivalen and Hordaland Folkemusikklag.
